More of The Land Girls of Peacehaven

Paper cutting from the Evening Argus in the late 60s - early 70s

By Marion Goodwin

This newspaper cutting was from the Evening Argus written during the late 60s to the early 70s.

My mother cut it out and sent it to Australia to my sister who had emigrated there in 1968 unfortunately the photo is in quite a poor condition now but the article does have the names of who are in the photo, Pat Dickens (Dickey Dooley) from my previous article on The Land Girls of Peacehaven during the 1960s is now married and her surname is Molnar (see the cutting)

Also included is my contract of employment from when I started work for Grant Currie in September 1964 as you can see my basic wage was £3.18s.0d a week
