MR DAVID SWALLOW
A short account of my life in the Whitehawk area
By David Swallow
I first lived at Hodshrove Road, Moulsecomb.
I had 2 brothers.
I went to Moulsecomb Infant & Junior & then to Stanmer.
I had a lovely Childhood with great friends and parents.
Moulsecomb playing fields were at the end of our garden,so it was playing football most evenings.
I used to be a paper boy and butchers boy on Saturday.
My first proper job was as an engineer with Segas. My next job was on the buildings, as a concreter and with a bricklaying gang.
I then went back to Segas (British Gas).
On taking redundancy from Segas, I then went to work as a postman.
I am now retired.
I got married to my lovely wife Glynis in 1976 at Stanmer church and in 1982 my son was christened there.
I now live in Reading Road, Whitehawk.
I have 2 children, Alexander and Rebecca. They both went to St Marks Primary School, Alex then went to Cardinal Newman and then Cardinal College Cambridge. Rebecca was awarded a scholarship to St Marys Hall and when it closed was transfered to Roedean.
I still live in Reading Road, in the same house as I got married.
